"Plandscapes" - an fragment of the A/V performance

"Plandscapes v2.0"

Wilem De Kooning Akademie and Het Nieuwe Instituut from Rotterdam commissioned World Wilder Lab (Kasia Molga + Erik Overmeire) to create a hybrid between plant and robotic arm for the "Neuhaus" exhibiton celebrating 100 years of Bauhaus

The hybrid plant/machine allows for plants reactions to be recorded with the movement of the robotic arm, as in artificial limb attached to a plant in order to give it opportunity to express itself.

The houseplant in this installation is connected to three sensors that measure what the plant feels and notices. The sensors transmit the plant’s experiences to a robot arm, which makes a drawing of it: an image of the adventures of a plant.
